Dento-alveolar surgery is the surgery of the dental alveolar bone supporting the teeth and also known as the alveolar bone. In addition to oral implantology which is an independent subject, the clinic can perform dental extractions, included teeth extractions and apical resections.
Dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the oral cavity, where it cannot benefit from any conservative treatment – when the root cannot be used to make a pivot and a crown. There are also extracted those teeth that maintain infections and teeth for creating space on the arch for the alignment of teeth, with orthodontic purposes.
In our clinic, the extraction is a painless procedure because it is done under good-quality local anesthesia and the experience of the doctors is very important. All you have to do is follow the recommendations for post extraction (see the “Post-extraction Recommendations”+ LINK section).
The extraction of the included teeth-sometimes the wisdom teeth but also other teeth which may exist but which may not appear on the arch, remaining in the bone or below the gum. The presence of these teeth may not be an issue but sometimes there can be pain and infection in the dental sac or crowding of other teeth can occur.
In these circumstances it is necessary to extract the included teeth, procedure that is done during a small surgery. This surgery, the same as all the other surgical maneuvers is performed under good-quality local anesthesia and without trauma.
After extraction, a powerful anti-inflammatory substance meant to minimize the post-operative symptoms will be locally injected. All you have to do is follow the post-operative recommendations (see the “Recommendations after surgery”+ LINK section).
The apical resection is a small surgery that allows the maintenance of a tooth through the periapical process (popularly known as the “infection at the top of the root”). This involves the removal of the infection and the retention of the tooth root tip. It is performed after the filling of the root canal under local anesthesia.
It is painless and after the surgery a powerful anti-inflammatory substance is locally injected with the main purpose of minimizing the post-operative symptoms. Please follow the post-operative recommendations (see the”Recommendations after surgery” + LINK section).
DENTO-ALVEOLAR SURGERY SERVICES
- dental extraction
- apical resection
- teeth replanting
- orthodontic-surgical recovery
- the insertion of dental implants and bone augmentations (bone addition)
- sinus-lifting (maxillary sinus lift for the insertion of dental implants)
- the extraction of wisdom teeth
- the extraction of the wisdom molar tooth
The apical resection is a conservative surgical work which consists of the surgical removal of the infection placed at the root tip of the tooth. The apical resection is performed in a single session.
